Three numbers, defined plainly
No black box. These are the definitions the engine uses, and you can see the inputs behind every figure.
Gross burn
Total cash going out in a month: payroll, vendors, rent, taxes and loan repayments. Transfers between your own accounts are excluded.
Net burn
Gross burn minus cash collected. Shown as a three-month rolling average by default, so one large invoice does not distort the picture.
Runway
Months until projected cash reaches zero, using the forward forecast rather than simple division, so rising costs and seasonal dips are counted.
Decide what counts as urgent, once
Set thresholds that match your situation. A seed-stage company raising in six months cares about different lines than a profitable business watching working capital.
